My name is Ashley and welcome to Cheers Blondie!

Cheers Blondie is my semi-entertaining expat and travel blog where I share my love and frustrations of living abroad. I am originally a Florida girl but made Washington, DC my home before settling in Scotland, 5 years ago, with my Scottish husband. What can I say? I was seduced by the accent.

I’m Blonde, usually smiling and never without my sunglasses – even on a rainy Scottish day! I have a lighthearted approach to my writing and poke fun at the cultural differences between America and the UK.

A few things to know about me:

  1. I am from the sunshine state and I complain about the lack of sun in Scotland, A LOT.
  2. I am not an outdoorsy girl, my idea of an outside activity is a rooftop bar.
  3. I am obsessed with castles and royalty.
  4. I hate being called a Yank.
  5. I love the show Outlander and casually stalk film locations throughout Scotland.

And here are some interviews with me and articles about the good, the bad and the ugly of being an expat!

  1. I look forward to following you and your blog! Hope all is well and always wish you the best.
FYI… my wife and I are back in the States, specifically Chicago. She travels back to Costa Rica about 7-8 tines a year and runs our coffee business. It is doing well, and we needed to spend more time in the USA where the majority of our coffee is exporting.
I took an awesome position with Gatorade as a Team Sports Manager , serving as the point person for the NFL and contracted partners in the Midwest.

We loved our experience as Expats, but truly missed the greatest country in the world (even with all our BIG problems).
Would love to catch up and share expat experiences.
    Best to you Ashley!
